Best Advice for Students on How to Stop Worrying and Increase Their Positivity

Best Advice for Students on How to Stop Worrying and Increase Their Positivity

Student life is exciting more importantly at KNUST, but it can also be challenging at times. Do you find yourself worrying all the time? Do you lack self-assurance? Are you constantly bombarded with negative thoughts? The first thing you should know is that you are not alone in feeling this way.

The state of worry, like a state of pure bliss, is a phase that will pass. However, we all want to be happy and worry-free. Positivity and joy are frequently generated by our own actions in the face of adversity. If you’ve been wondering how to stop worrying, keep reading until the end.

Be Positive

Okay, this may appear childish, but it is not. The human brain operates in mysterious ways. A part of it is aware of how things are. A portion of it is trapped somewhere between the past, present, and future. Part of it is constantly imagining how things could be.

You need to stop overthinking things. You must also eliminate negative thoughts from your mind. This will allow you to focus on things with a more positive and clear vision. When you’re feeling down, think of something happy. Remind yourself of the small compliments you receive and the best qualities you admire in yourself.

Take a Positive Approach

You are the person you are because of your actions. As a result, you must always act positively. You should avoid unnecessarily creating a negative environment. People will begin to avoid you if you are constantly exuding negative energy. This could further dampen your spirits.

You must make an effort to pull yourself together. Smile and compliment your classmates. In turn, they will return your smile and compliments. Participate in activities that keep you happy and energetic. Spend time with your friends and eat your favorite foods. Bring these small changes into your life to eliminate negative thoughts and create a positive environment.

Keep Happy Memories and Let Go of the Pain

What is it that is causing you concern? Why are you not feeling upbeat? Consider the following questions. If your response refers to something that happened in the past. It’s time to get on with your life. You must not allow bad memories from the past to interfere with your present.

Concentrate on remembering happy memories from the past and letting go of the bad ones. Nothing good ever comes from remembering something bad that happened in the past. You can’t go back in time and change what’s already happened. However, it is pointless to think negatively as a result of this.

Increase Your Laughter

It sounds ridiculous. You’re probably wondering how you’re supposed to smile when you’re feeling down. Well, you should put on a fake smile and wear it as if it were genuine. When you smile, your facial muscles relax in a way that makes you feel happy.

It is a method of tricking your mind into thinking you are happy. And before you know it, you’ll be much more relaxed and worry-free. Make an effort to smile and laugh at the smallest and silliest things that occur around you. Make jokes with your friends. Observe TV shows, movies, and videos that make you laugh aloud.

The Glass is Never Empty

Yes, you read that correctly. The glass is not half-full, half-empty, or entirely empty. It is never empty. This should be your attitude toward life at all times. People frequently wonder how an empty glass can always be filled. It is, after all, full of air.

They continue to wonder, “What good is the air?” The air we breathe is what keeps us alive. Similarly, we can become overly concerned about things we don’t have. This prevents us from appreciating the blessings we have.

Yoga Is the Solution

Yoga is more than just physical postures. Yoga entails the complete well-being of the body, mind, and spirit. In Yoga, there are numerous Asanas (body postures) that have been described to strengthen various body parts. Meditation and spiritual activities are also part of it.

Yoga can help you with all aspects of your development, from meditation and simple breathing exercises to advanced body postures. You must set aside some time in the morning to engage in any Yoga activities that you enjoy. In no time, you’ll notice yourself blossoming with positivity.

5 Important Questions to Ask Yourself Before Setting Personal Goals

5 Important Questions to Ask Yourself Before Setting Personal Goals

Setting goals is one of the most effective ways to assess your progress toward success. This applies to anyone, including students, working professionals, and those looking to start a new chapter in their lives.

We frequently set unrealistically high or impractical targets that are difficult to achieve when creating milestones. Failures occur as a result of feeling discouraged to pursue the plan.

The best way to avoid this setback is to ask yourself a few clarifying questions. The approach to goal setting is the same for everyone, regardless of their background.

Before embarking on your journey, take some time to reflect on your past and try to learn from it. This would enable you to select the right ingredients for success while discouraging you from making the same mistakes.

First and foremost, stop setting goals for the sake of setting goals. If you keep setting new goals and never work towards them, you will become frustrated and lose faith in yourself. Instead, as you plan, begin delving deeper to understand the objectives, intentions, and hopes that underpin each goal you set.

In this KNUSTconnect.Com blog, we will focus on five critical questions you should ask yourself when developing goals. So clear your mind, grab a pen and paper, and begin jotting down questions and answers.

  1. What motivates me to set these objectives?
  2. What have I attempted thus far in my pursuit of this goal?
  3. How am I approaching my goals?
  4. Are my objectives SMART?

So, what exactly is SMART?

  • Specific: What exactly is the nature of your goal?
  • Measurable: How will you monitor progress?
  • Attainable: Is your goal attainable?
  • Relevance: How does the goal relate to your life and future plans?
  • Timed: What is the goal’s deadline for completion?
